Have you been to Boracay? Have you asked the help of an
agency in your tour? There are many travel agencies that are offering different
packages. Let’s learn how you could find a good agency that offers boracay packages.
- Physical Address – The agency should have their physical address (apart from their internet site). This more likely to ensures you that they are a legitimate business. Usually, a business that have a declared physical address in their website or business cards have legitimate business permit.
- Business Permit – The business permit is always posted on the office of an agency. Look at the date of their business permit. If it happens that the date is from two years ago without renewal, better stay away from that agency. Some agencies are still operating because the local government is not very strict when inspecting business permits.
- Reviews – Look for some online reviews of this agency. Try to use the following string on Google search – “review OR reviews [name of travel agency]” such that [travel agency] is the agency or the exact website name that you are trying to search. You can find reviews on travel blogs or forums. Read some reviews then decide if you want to avail of their service.
- Website Completeness – A complete website contains all of the information regarding packages. Some website that I saw contains only promotional pictures and a phone number. Be cautious when you see these kinds of websites, they might be the wrong kind of “agency.”
- Business and Business Owner Profile – One sign of a good travel agency is that they show their profile in public. They are open to publicizing their profiles or business history because they have nothing to hide and they are confident on what it is they are doing.
- Social Presence – A strong social presence in most social networking sites could be a good indication that a travel agency is legit.
- Website Age – A website age could be indicates how long that website has been operational. You can check the age here. Paste the name of the website in the search bar and wait for the result. An analogy would be that a legit business will be at least 2 or more years in operation.
